Momentary pleasure

Momentary pleasure is a form of happiness which are like the passing events that give pleasure to an individual for a moment. Like if one buys a costly phone it can be a reason for happiness but that happiness will always be based on a materialistic achievement and hence short-lived.

Long term happiness

In order to get long term happiness that multiplies with each passing day there needs to be some kind of value addition In Ones life it can be a promotion at work, recovering from a critical Illness thereby having a second birth kind of a feeling, qualifying for some degree after years of handwork etc.

Self actualization

These kind of achievements In life that form the important milestones of ones journey are extremely important from the perspective of self actualization of an Individual.

At the peak of these needs as per Abraham Maslow is need for self-actualization where an individual is considered as making best use of his abilities and potentials which ultimately adds to their self- development.

Long term impact on happiness

This kind of progress on the ladder of life has a major long term impact on happiness and can be the turning point in ones life.

Momentary happiness

Momentary happiness can come easily with little effort or alternatively by using monetary resources and purchasing costly gadgets but in order to gain long term happiness a lot of ground work needs to be done in form of value additions to ones existence.

Long term pleasures

This is only possible through constant hard work and sacrificing momentary pleasures for these long term pleasures which are more luxury oriented and make an Individual take their life as granted.

Attitude of arrogance

This attitude of arrogance also gives rise to the ego and self-esteem that ultimately act as barrier to personal development and weakens one's focus on attainment of Long term happiness which in fact needs altogether different set of criterion like humility, gratitude and benevolent nature.

Value addition in life with happiness

The difference is clear and simple between momentary happiness and long term happiness while the former is more pleasure oriented the latter is more about value additions in life to make it more purposeful and meaningful for own self and also for others.
